Some nice colors out there these days. Miniature 'falls'. You can even get your feet wet without losing any toes (at least until December). Here as well, tons of macro opportunities, just don't do what I did and forget to charge the camera batteries...
Took a trip to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Reserve in Delaware. Tons of waterfowl. Some snakes. Plenty of ladybugs (infestation, really). Interesting place, with a genuine nuclear cooling tower as a backdrop. Recommended.
I recently took a trip to Ithaca, NY. I managed to get to Watkins Glen, Buttermilk Falls, Taughannock Falls and Robert Treman State Park. It was a beautiful time of year, the leaves were near their peak, and although it was rainy and foggy, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as we had nice even light, without the hard shadows that direct sunlight can produce. In addition to all the falls, there were endless macro possibilities...
